Perfection(1) – I wanted to be perfect!

Here is the start of my series on the theme “Perfection”. It consists of three parts which will be posted over the next few days. Let me know what you think in the comments. Like and Share!

I wanted to be perfect!
Tall and slim,
With chubby cheeks and high cheekbones,
With a sharp jawline and perfect eyebrows,
Not a hair out of place;
Molding my body in a shape that is unnatural to its origin,
Telling myself that I am worthy only when I reach a certain standard.
I wanted to be perfect!

I wanted to be perfect!
Cold and Hostile;
Warm and Congenial;
Subservient and Dumb;
Self standing and Smart;
Confused, Anxious, and Questioning
About every little thing I do.
I wanted to be perfect!

I wanted to be perfect!
Serious and Graceful;
Humorous and Clumsy;
Sensitive and Brave;
Stressed and Responsible;
Continuously shaping my personality to suit others’ needs,
Surviving but not being or even living.
I wanted to be perfect!

I hope you enjoyed it.

This is part 1 of the series. Come back for part 2 Monday 16th July!
